Yoga allows you to find a new kind of freedom that you may not have known even existed. B.K.S. Iyengar
Regardless of the style you choose, yoga is essentially a therapeutic practice. I teach yoga that I practice and practice yoga that I teach. I believe that it is the only possible way to be able to share my love for yoga and the knowledge derived from my personal yoga practice which is constantly evolving. This makes yoga so fascinating - it is a never ending process of learning that accompanies us throughout our entire life...
Iyengar yoga
I teach yoga inspired by Iyengar yoga method and enriched with my knowledge of the anatomy and phisiology. During the practice we are going to focus on the correct alignment of the body and adjust the postures taking into account each student’s morphology and possible health issues. It is a gentle yet stimulating practice that suits all levels. Among the benefits of the practice are:
on physical level: stretch and strengthen the muscles, elongate and strengthen the spine, (re)establish balance in the body
on physiological level: enhance blood and energy circulation, remove any blockages in different channels of our bodies (veins, arteries, nerves…);
on mental level: calm the nervous system (activation of the parasympathetic nervous system) as a result of a gentle and conscious practice, improve concentration, bring “awareness” into our bodies and our lives.
Yin yoga
Contrary to Yang, which is traditionally represented by the Sun, strength, structure and masculinity, Yin is symbolized by the Moon, softness, interiority and femininity… It is a slow and deep practice which invites us to explore our bodily sensations as well as our emotions as they arise. We will remain in each pose for prolonged periods of time to allow our bodies to open. During these moments of complete surrender an opening takes place on physical (increased flexibility due to the connective tissues opening) as well as energetic (removal of the blockages in the energetic channels known as meridians or nadis) and mental levels (development of the awareness and of the non-judgemental attitude).
Yoga at work
I offer yoga classes at work in Paris and Ile-de-France. It is a special occasion for employees and/or senior managers to revitalize body and mind without leaving their work place. Yoga practice is a combination of physical activity promoting fitness and health, brain relaxation, and energy and mood uplift. Various studies have proved the benefits of yoga for improved concentration, stress resistance and overall sense of well being. I will adapt the practice according to students’ various levels, company’s time table and the premises provided for the classes. Each yoga session will be closing with a short meditation to allow the students to cultivate mindfulness and reconnect with the outer world.
