Since my discovery of yoga 12 years ago, I have been practicing Iyengar yoga on a regular basis first in Russia, then in the centre of Faeq Biria in Paris. Currently I'm following a three year Iyengar teacher's training with the senior Iyengar teacher Claire des Longchamps (https://yoga-claire-des-longchamps.com).
First, yoga was a purely physical practice which allows me to reconnect with my body and feel all the cells of my body awaken. With my practice evolving, I began to discover the benefits of yoga that extend far beyond increased flexibility and stronger muscles. After yoga practice, I have a feeling of unconditional happiness because nothing has changed in my life yet everything is different. All my concerns and daily life issues seem insignificant. The sensation of inner peace and harmony fills my entire being. In my understanding, it is the goal of yoga – to find this inner tranquility available to us at any moment in life and in any circumstances.
